Homage to Lindbergh. Forty-nine states (no Hawaii) represented. Mixture of (1) FDCs for Scott #1710 “Lindbergh Commemorative Flight” (5/20/1977) at New York Roosevelt Field plus alternate city cancels, occasionally with variable dating);
(2) event covers (some with #1710); and (3) pictorial cancels (some with #1710). Over 1,000 covers. At least 90% with cachets. Many different cachet makers represented. Minimal duplication. Most sleeved. Overwhelming majority are from the 1970s, with
some from the 1980s to 1990s. Includes cachets and covers from the EAA (Experimental Aircraft Association). This organization sponsored an honorary U.S. goodwill tour in 1977. We noticed 115 flown covers, 18 pilot signed covers, and 11 additional
covers. Also contains 56 international covers from 11 countries; most were canceled in France. Predominantly F-VF throughout. (Image) (image002)
