We noticed items postmarked in Arizona, Oklahoma, Wyoming, and more. Almost all covers have cachets; many cachets are hand-inked or hand-painted. Contains some similarly designed stamps from the Marshall Islands. Collection from 1838 to 1952 in one carton from the Golden Flyer Estate Part II. Roughly 550 commercial covers, postally used postal stationery, and postcards from Bureau County in Illinois. Organized A-Z (Arlington to Zearing) having cities, towns, villages, and unincorporated towns in six binders in ABC order. Involves a nice offering from the county seat, Princeton, including some stampless covers. Likewise entails some difficult to find DPOs and RPOs. Collected for many decades and hard to duplicate today. Condition varies but does not distract from the awesomeness of this holding. Bureau County or Illinois specialists take note. U.S. Frigate Constitution. Lot of 1400 covers canceled primarily between 1931 and 1934. Contains around twenty Commander-signed covers and about fifty covers signed by others. A few pamphlets are also included. The tour went from Boston, along the Atlantic Seaboard, to the Gulf Coast, through the Panama Canal, and finally to California, Oregon, and Washington; a return trip followed. Almost all covers are sleeved and in F-VF condition. There are many different cachets and stamps, including air mail postage. Of special interest to military enthusiasts and ship topical collectors. Most intriguing selection from 1834 to 1983 in a medium box. Over one hundred commercial, event, first flight covers, postal stationery, and postcards from a former exhibit showing various methods of mail delivery throughout the decades. Titled “Moving Our Nations’s Mail” nicely annotated on pages. Since the pages are loose, can not tell how much of the exhibit is still here.
