Phoenix Auctions Sale - 94

Worldwide Public Auction - August 18-19, 2022

Welcome to our 4th main Auction for 2022. This is being held over two days, Thursday 18th August & Friday 19th August. Auction 94 will be live on the net via our own auction systems. Just login as usual and then open the Live Bidding window. This will then give you the ability to bid on each lot just as if you were in the room.

We have 4 major vendors in this Auction:

  • The first is an anonymous seller who has provided an extensive range of Australian FDCs including many rare makers.
  • The second is Mark Houston who has decided to start disposing of his main collection of Kangaroo CTO and Specimen stamps. There are quite a number of major items being offered in this auction.
  • The last 2 major vendors are estates.
    • The Estate of John Steward, there are 2 major sections from John in this auction, they are Victorian Railway related PPCs and Norfolk Island PPCs. Collectors will be impressed with the broad offerings in these areas
    • The Estate of Peter Cranwell. This Polar collection provides the first 366 lots in the auction. While there is obvious strength in Antarctica, there are also many lots for the Arctic collector.
We will be attending the Antarctic Exhibition on 26th to 28th August at Princes Wharf No 1 Shed, Hobart Wharf ( adjacent to Salamanca Place), Hobart. We will be very happy to meet our clients and to receive consignments. Where practical we are also happy to bring lots over to be collected by successful bidders who are attending the Exhibition. If you wish to take up this offer please advise us when you bid as we will be leaving for Hobart on the Tuesday after the auction

Auction Timetable (local Time):
Session 1 (lots 1-366) starts at 10.00am on Thursday and is made up entirely of Polar lots.
Session 2 (lots 367-935) starts no earlier than 1:00pm on Thursday, and starts with Kangaroos and finishes with Australian FDCs.
Session 3 (lots 936-1359) starts at 10:00am on Friday. This session starts with Australian PNCs and ends with Nauru.
Session 4 (lots 1360-1897) starts no earlier than 1:00pm on Friday. This starts with Norfolk Island and finishes with Rest of World.
