 ½d Green & 2d Grey Kangaroos tied by Melbourne machine cancel, on Sept.1914 cover from Melbourne to USA with large straight line ‘PASSED’ censor mark in violet.

 

27 August 1913 usage of ½d Green, strip of 3 attractively tied on a RP postcard ("Suspension Bridge, North Sydney"), by multiple "650"' star postmarks of GUNARDOO, NSW, with cds alongside; addressed to USA.

August 1915 usage of ½d Green Kangaroo + KGV 1d Red pair, all perf. OS, used on 'O.H.M.S.' envelope from Central Weather Bureau Melbourne to Copenhagen, DENMARK, tied by '9 AU 15' machine datestamp, and with arrival backstamp; straight line "Passed" censorship marking.

3d Olive (Die 1) superbly centred blk.(4); 3 units MUH, 1 M; light gum discolouration (from long storage in a stockbook) affects all units. Delightful frontal appearance! BW: $2350.

5d Chestnut, marginal MUH example with 1R57 variety "Colour flaw inside left frame off W.A. coast". An elusive variety.

Dec.1913 usage of 5d Chestnut on a double-rate cover from Sydney to Cottbus, GERMANY. Endorsed "Erhalten 31.1.14" on reverse. Cat.$1000.

9d Pale Violet , perf. small OS, unusually well centred and with good perfs.  BW:  24Bbb - $1500++.

2d Grey, fine & fresh MUH.

Dec. 1916  registered cover to Los Angeles with KGV 1d Deep Scarlet Analine thin paper, plus 2d Slate & 2½d Indigo 2nd wmk Kangaroos to make correct 5½d international registered rate. All adhesives cancelled by CHARING CROSS NSW cds's of 11 DE 16 and with Sydney Registered cds of the same date on reverse. Also Honolulu violet transit cds of JAN 6 1917 and Los Angeles arrival cds also in violet. With provisional Charing Cross red reg'n label No. 06, initially amended to 506, and re-amended in pencil to 505. 

June 1915 usage of 2d Greys (2, Cat.$400 each, on cover!) in combination with KGV ½d Greens (2) on attractive double-rate cover from Sydney to NEW YORK.

2½d Indigo, superb MUH.

Aug.1916 use of 2½d Indigo pair cancelled on censored double-rate cover from MOSMAN; “Letter for Germany” at top and censor tape in purple at left. To overcome the difficulty in sending letters to Germany during WWI mail was usually routed via Switzerland; unusually this example was sent via Sweden, with STOCKHOLM b/stamps.
