Transit, May 14" exchange cds, carried by German Lloyds Rheim from New York May 14th to Southampton arriving May 26th, Basel (5.26) and Geneva (5.26) backstamps; some gum toning around stamp edges, few with perfs trimmed, still Very Fine cover to Clara Barton in Switzerland.

Clara Barton was at the International Red Cross headquarters learning about their mission. Upon return to the U.S.A., she founded the American Red Cross and served as its President from 1882 until retiring in 1904.
