602       imagePension Related Postal History, group of over 40 covers with great corner card advertisements, Department of Interior uses incl. O17 3¢ and O18 6¢ covers, Pension Office postal stationary, an item with a blue circular receiving strike on front from U.S. PENSION OFFICE dated APR 23 1902. Many items mention new Pensions Laws from the late 1800's along with a couple modern items, an item references the War of 1812 and another includes original enclosures. Most of the material from the WWII era but also saw a couple late 1920's items-1 item postmarked "NICARAGUA" and others with ship names. Also a Southwestern US Cavalary item, 1870 cover-B.H. Grierson, the soldier protrayed by John Wayne in the movie titled "The Horse Soldiers." The cover is sent to Ft Sill in Indian Territory. Card mailed from Bremen with Hudson Terminal marking along w/ "DUE 2 CENTS"w/JQ2 paying. A pair of JQ3 used on back of cover-front marked with Budapest marking along with DUE 10 CENTS and faint "Not in Directory" and unclaimed marking on back. Another military item sent without postage and "On Active Service" written at top along with a green censor tape pre-printed stating "Opened by Censor" along with other marks including triangle in red. JQ4 from Moscow w/ curricular T and "DUE 10 CENTS" mailed to Chicago. And a sheet of paper with 21 #JQ3 cancelled in "Chase City, VA" Dec 1, 1917, great lot for the collector.
