The stamp has been cleaned with small corner creases; the envelope some staining/age wear. Very rare; just one further No.1-entire has been recorded with this cancellation. "FIELDPOST OFFICE P.B. 55 23 MY 19” cds, fine strike on small soldier´s envelope to England, vertical fold and flap rebacked, still fine. A scarce mail from the British forces during their intervention in Northern Russia
1899, "KITAI” overprint, 2 k. (two singles) and 10 k., tied by scarce cds "N°13 FIELD POST OFFICE PRIAMUR DISTRICT 20 VIII 03”, with matching registration label alongside, to Chinese registered postcard to Germany, the domestic rate prepaid by Coiling Dragons 10 c. and 4 c.. The card subsequently handed to the Russian Field Post Telegraph Office at Yingkow (Newchang) for onward transmission abroad. Transit via Warsaw and Darmstadt, arrival Meersburg (29.9.03). One 2 kopek with corner fault, still very fine and attractive. A rare and desirable mixed franking, illustrating the handling of civilian mail through Russian field post offices during the occupation of Manchuria.

YELETSK (Orlov Province): 1873/99, lovely group of 28 unused and used, some scarcer items throughout commencing with Schmidt-Nr. 1 unused (x2 including one in deep blue shade, ex Herrick and Fabergé) and used, the collection follows with the Circular issues including paper and perforations types, etc. Mixed condition as to be expected, a delightful and most unusual specialist assembly
1858/1995 (ca.), large mint never hinged/unused and predominantly used collection, including Post Offices Abroad and Civil War issues, showing a substantial degree of duplication together with some multiples, varieties other specialties, from 1949 fairly advanced and mostly in used condition, in the classics showing a small selection of dotted numeral cancels, some better values with 1915 10 k. (Mi.-Nr. 106CUu) mint never hinged, 1970 two essays for the Feodossy issue, fine selection of Post Office in China and Levant, also Zemstvo including Sumy and Zolotonosha, and more.
