245 cover 98 image1908 (December 9), 2c carmine bisect on cover from Upper Stewiacke, 1c postal stationery envelope uprated with a diagonally bisected 2c carmine, tied by Upper Stewiacke c.d.s. and addressed to Middle Stewiacke, paying the 2c domestic letter rate; a striking and exceptionally rare usage, one of only a small number of bisected Quebec Tercentenary frankings of any denomination recorded, very fine.

Bisect covers of the Quebec Tercentenary issue are exceptionally scarce. The Nickle Collection, sold by Firby in 1988, included one example, also originating in Nova Scotia, while the McNaught Collection, sold by Firby in 2009, contained two further examples; none were offered in the "Libra" sale. Although not officially authorized, the use of bisected stamps had long been tolerated in pre-Confederation Nova Scotia and continued sporadically after Canadian stamps came into use in 1868, particularly at smaller rural post offices where shortages of suitable denominations occasionally prompted improvised frankings. 246 cover 98 image1908, twelve-times 1c-per-ounce fourth-class parcel-post rate, parcel tag to Strathroy bearing six 2c carmine Tercentenary, cancelled by Windsor roller cancel, undated as customary for fourth-class mail, apparently attached to a twelve-ounce length of pipe sent by a pipe-supply firm to a cannery; a striking and exceptionally scarce parcel-post usage.

Parcel tags were ordinarily discarded upon receipt and, being tied directly to packages rather than enclosed or affixed to envelopes, were especially vulnerable to damage in transit. Surviving examples are therefore scarce and often faulty. Of the believed seven extant uses of Quebec Tercentenary stamps on parcel tags, a remarkable three are represented in the Bunce Collection; the Brigham Collection included only one. 248 cover 98 image1908, triple 1c printed-matter rate, oversized Alma College envelope bearing 1c green and 2c carmine Tercentenary stamps tied by St. Thomas roller cancellation, without dated postmarks as customary for second-class mail, the combined franking paying three times the 1c-per-ounce printed-matter rate; some light creasing consistent with its large format and handling, nevertheless a remarkably elusive usage, such items having usually been discarded upon receipt, and believed to be the unique recorded example of the Quebec Tercentenary issue paying this rate.
