Rare Edmonton to Vancouver Transcontinental Flight Cover, Sept 7, 1928, also includes Ottawa to Vancouver, Sept 5 flight cover, both listed in AMCN2 as #2843 (signed by Godfrey, c.v. $100,) and 2843a, with only 4 flown covers from Edmonton to Vancouver (c.v. $950). The 4 covers were taken onboard by the pilot, squadron leader Godfrey, who signed and mailed the 4 in Vancouver after the plane arrived. A bit of wear and creases, overall fine to very fine.

Von Gronau Around the Word Flight Cover, Montreal to Chicago, July 29, 1933, postmarked on the front at Montrèal, JUL.29.1932 and backstamped at Chicago, AUG.4.1932, and includes the usual 5-line cachet in blue, on an Ian Morgan cover (address in upper left erased and replaced with 3-line "Souvenir of / First Through Flight / Montrèal, Canada), and 3-line International Airmail Society cachet erased and replaced overtop with 3-line "First / Air Mail / Flight" in black. Cover has a few minor stains. Overall fine to very fine.

Unique Bleriot X1 Replica Flown Cover, July 31, 1955, built by students at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology and Arts, Calgary, was flown across the English Channel from Calais, France to Dover, England and return. The flight was made without landing as the pilot did not have permission to land in Dover or to take off from Calais. The cover is signed by pilot Jean de la Bruyère of Edmonton, along with his notations. Listed in ACMN2 as #5512 and unpriced, noting "one souvenir cover known to have been carried and signed but not mailed". Very fine and a unique flown cover.

We note AMCN2 #YA2927-CL42 Whitehorse to Champagne, postmarked at Whitehorse MAR.19.1929 (attempt failed due to a lack of snow) and postmarked again on JUN.23.1929 (attempt successful), along with a cover franked with CL42 with just JUN.23.1929 Whitehorse postmark. The lot includes 38 covers, and two newspapers, from the 1928 promotional flights to Carcross and Atlin, with all 6 possible legs included. We note a good variety of shades from light blue to dark blue (final printing). A good lot for the specialist or dealer, with some small faults noted with some stains and tears. Accumulation of Town Postmarks in Two Binders, 1950s Onward, in roughly 50 double sided Vario-style stock pages, primarily on piece and includes pre-1950 examples, with representation from all Provinces, Territories, and a few First Nations. We note a variety of postmarks including c.d.s., broken circle, duplex, R.P.O., military, etc, along with a few miscellaneous markings. We note a number of smaller towns (owner's inventory included in the lot), with choice material and very readable strikes. Remittance Envelopes With Maritime Postmarks, 1952-1955, mostly Registered cover fronts, addressed to the Postmaster at Halifax, including remittance receipts, all with town postmarks from New Brunswick or Newfoundland, with a few from Nova Scotia. We note broken circles, cds, and a few R.P.O. postmarks, including small towns from: Newfoundland (Cuslett, Fort Hope Simpson, Gander, Harricott, Deep Bay, Bareneed, Brent's Cove); New Brunswick (Duguayville, Leger Brook, Plaster Rock, Hazeldean, Sunny Corner, Little Cape); Nova Scotia (Lower Sandy Point, Bransfield). Collection of Manitoba Squared Circle Postmarks, on 17 covers / cards plus another 86 stamps and stamps on piece, mostly all mounted on album pages. The stamps include Small Queens (up to the 8c), QV Leafs and Numerals, Maps, Jubilees and at least two Edward VII (with RPO strikes) and one 5c RLS. The collection does not include any Winnipeg, but we noted Brandon, Birtle, Deloraine, Elkhorn, Gretna, Hartney, Manitou, Minnedosa, Morden, Pipestone, Neepawa, Portage la Prairie, St Boniface and Selkirk, as well as 4 stamps with Napinka & Winnipeg MC No. 1 (first hammer) strikes. Valuable and Quality Collection of 2-Ring Numeral Cancels on Large Queen Stamps, with a total of 164 stamps showing 43 of the 60 possible ring numerals. There are many numerals appearing on more than one denomination, and we did note a little duplication. We also note high rarity factor numbers, such as 16 (RF 8), 30 (RF 7), 31 (RF 7), 37 (RF 8), 40 (RF 7), 42 (RF 9), 58 (RF 7), 59 (RF 7), and more. The quality of the stamps is generally nice, showing a good variety of shades and papers (including Bothwell, etc.), with the odd fault here and there, but the strikes are mostly all clear and readable, with a good number that are socked on the nose. A lovely collection, which is certain to be useful not only to collectors, but to dealers alike. A rare opportunity.
