547 CVR 2 image1852 6d Consort on Folded Letter to New York, mailed from Kingston on MAR.13.1852 (year unclear but dateline and docketing confirm) to Kennedy on Wall Street in New York City, with arched CANADA and Cape Vincent, NY c.d.s. receiver dated MAR.13. There is a crossed-out "6d" manuscript rate, franked with a 6d Consort on laid paper (3 clear margins, just into at right) tied by three strikes of a target cancel. Neatly written letter inside, light vertical creases do not affect the stamp, clean and very fine.

548 CVR 4 image1850s 3d Beaver Imperforate on Cover, mailed Bath U.C on JUL.24.1853 (or 1858?, double broken circle in green) to Montréal (unclear receiver), franked with a 3d Beaver imperforate showing a plate imprint along the whole length of the top selvedge, tied by two pen strokes. Tear on back flap, else a very fine cover.

549 CVR 4iv image1855 3d Beaver Imperforate on Cross Border Cover, mailed from Millbank U.C on DEC.11.1855 (manuscript date) to Philadelphia / New York via Hamilton (partial transit on back). The cover is franked with a 3d red Beaver imperforate on thin oily paper (faults), tied by a target cancel. The cover has a red "CANADA / PAID 10 Cts" in red italics which was cancelled-out by the same target cancel, but a different handstamp "CANADA 10 Cts" was applied in black at Hamilton. Missing part of backflap and creases, still a rare cross-border franking and apparently one of only two such known.

550 CVR 14b image1861 Cover with Five 1c Deep Rose Queen Victoria Issues, mailed from Swainby C.W on DEC.23.1861 (the earliest of only a few recorded strikes, a post office which was only open from 1861 to 1863), to "Elismere P O Seaboro" via Williams U.C (DEC.23 double broken circle in red on back) and London. The cover is franked with 5x deep rose shade 1c Queen Victoria issues (one has a tear), tied to each other by pen cancels. A fine and rare cover.

The cover is franked with a 3c Large Queen on laid paper, centered low but with bright colour and nicely tied. Cover is slightly reduced at left, has back flap tears, else quite attractive. 554 CVR 85 imageDEC.20.1898 2c Map Paying Circular Rate to France, a lovely yellow Solicitors of Patents corner card cover mailed from Montréal on DEC.20.1898 (Bickerdike flag cancel is dated well before the official DEC.25 day of issue) to Toulouse, France, franked with a single 2c Map with sheet selvedge at left, leaving a nice white space for the machine dater. The envelope backflap is unsealed and still retains its original gum, a pristine and attractive cover, as well as a scarce use of this stamp to pay the printed matter rate to France.

These also have a good variety of handstamps such as MONEY LETTER, PAID, TOO LATE, REGISTERED, FORWARDED. The other 5 covers include two with F1 Registration stamps (one of those also franked strip of four 5c SQ plus 1c in 1882 and is addressed to Louis Papineau in Monte Bello) plus three various multi-issue frankings (SQ, Jubilee, Numeral, Leaf and Map). Also includes 5 registration receipts (4 from St John 1874-1876, and one from Goderich 1898) plus another 3c SQ / F2 cover front (these not counted). Overall fine or better.
