Slate Grey Consort Imperforate with Stitch Watermark, used with 4-ring #21 cancel from Montréal. Margins are mostly full to large, clear of outer frameline at bottom, and the stamp shows a very clear stitch watermark, which occurs when the mesh
used in manufacturing the paper is repaired, leaving a seam that is then transferred to the paper. A rare variety which is seldom offered, and would make an interesting collecting sideline, very fine.

Victoria Plate Proof in Rose, with Vertical SPECIMEN Overprint in Green Black, a block of 60 from left of sheet, printed on card-mounted India paper. The block shows plate inscriptions at bottom, top and two at left. There are at least two major
re-entries, as well as several more interesting small plate flaws. Lower left corner has a crease (in margin), the bottom row is slightly affected by a horizontal bend and there is a nick in the margin at top right, still an impressive large block
and overall very fine. Catalogue value does not include premiums for the 4 plate imprints or the re-entries.
