V-Mail Service envelope), all with Christmas-themed illustrations and greetings, two WWII Armed Forced Air Letters, each with illustrated interiors, mailed from England to British Columbia, A Christmas folded card (with very colourful illustrations inside) mailed from South Africa in Dec. 1943 to New York with censor handstamp and Christmas stamp, a 1914 German Red Cross Christmas card (unmailed), a large Christmas Card with "4th Canadian Division / France / Belgium" on front and other message inside, and a censored WWI Christmas postcard mailed free (endorsed Soldier's mail) mailed from an American soldier to his father in Coney Island. Last but not least is a group of three different unused Canadian War Savings Christmas cards, each with Christmas greetings and spaces to affix 16 War Savings stamps (these rare cards are fresh and very fine, listed in Zaluski Revenue catalogue). 1254 CVR Netherlands image1934 KLM DC-2 "UIVER" December 20th Recovered Air Crash Cover, plane left Amsterdam on Dec. 19th at 2:30 am, and on the 20th there was a radio message saying that the plane was in trouble and that was the last communication. The plane's wreckage was spotted on the 21st and all 7 occupants were found dead and it was believed the plane was struck by lightening, thus capsizing and bursting into flames trying to land. Some mail was recovered, including this scarce cover. Ex Michael Rogers and is accompanied by a newspaper cutting and a crash write-up by James Hester. Typical plane crash condition.
