Lots of town cancels, oversized covers folded to fit into albums. Box 2 is all loose material, with covers and cards, noting Prexi mail, postal stationery, censored mail including a number of items to Australia. Also postage due and official mail, flight covers, short wave radio cards, 3 North Atlantic catapult mail covers, a U.S.S. Akron air ship cover and lots more. Condition is mixed, still many fine to very fine. We recommend in-person viewing of this better than average lot. 1223 CVR United States imageUnited States Group of 19 Better Christmas Related Covers, 1851 to 1964, starts off strong with an 1851 cover mailed on DEC.25 from Cuyagoga Falls, Ohio, franked with a 3c imperforate (long letter inside from a brother to his sister). Also included are 13 illustrated Christmas covers, some quite lavishly illustrated in full colour, etc. We also note a cover mailed in 1928 with a Special Delivery label showing a Christmas wreath, an advertising cover with a tied 1939 Christmas seal, a cover with Christmas card still inside mailed from San Francisco Rincon Annex in 1952. A very fine and colourful group. 1225 United States image1862 New York Tribune Newspaper Mailed to Canada with 1c Blue Franklin Franking, a complete newspaper which was mailed to London, Canada West using a 1c blue Franklin issue (Scott 63), tied by a circular cancel. The newspaper (which has not been read, as it is still uncut at top) is quite tatty, but contains lots of Civil War related text, as well as other contemporary news on slavery, etc. A rare item. 1240 CVR Yemen area imageYemen Group of Mostly People's Republic of Southern Yemen Covers, 1968-1970, all from a correspondence mailed to California, consisting of 12 covers (plus one large parcel piece) franked with various People's Republic of Southern Yemen stamps, one cover franked with Federation of South Arabia stamps and another 9 covers which are unfranked, mailed with Aden postmarks with "On Postal Service" or other similar handstamps, two of which contain an enclosure from the Postal Administration explaining the political history of the area and offering modern stamps for sale. Lastly there are two large black and white Ministry of Culture photographs with handstamp on back reading "M.E.
