The Scott's catalogue value was assessed at the least expensive value, as we did not check every stamp for perforations. A great lot for Penny Red enthusiasts and dealers looking for stock. We noted a few small faults (mostly trimmed perfs), otherwise the stamps are generally in fine to very fine condition. Chelsea" straightline in red on front, and JAN.18.1843 receiver on back in red. The all-over advertising inside is a "List and estimate of necessaries for an assistant surgeon, proceeding to India, manufactured and furnished by John Besemeres & Sons, Outfitters... near the East India House, London."
