115 O 37, 41 image1870-97 3c Small Queen Advanced Study, all written-up on 113 quadrille pages in a Stanley Gibbons album. An old time collection covering many subjects such as blurring in margins, dots, many stamps identified as per Shoemaker classification, two nice pages of imprints, paper studies, etc. A little postmark interest, but mostly we note loads of early 1870-71 shades, with copper reds and roses, 1888-89 carmine shades, and everything in between, not much after. Probably well over 1,000 stamps included and no covers. We have scanned 10 pages online and highly recommend viewing in person. 117 O 37, 41 1880s to 1890s 3c Small Queen Lot, with about 4,000 stamps, all in a box, majority are off paper and some are on (mostly cut close). We estimated the number of stamps based on weight (total of 169gr), taking into account the extra paper. Most of these are #41, but includes many #37 and a very few 1c and 2c values. Not much in postmark interest, save for a few dated copies and perhaps more. A great lot for the specialist, as there could be varieties. Overall fine or better. Est $ 200

118 og/nh/ng 37, 41 image1880s to 1890s 3c Small Queen Lot, with 45 mint or unused stamps in all, including one that is never hinged (with gum loss in a corner), and a few others have hinged gum but mostly all have no gum. A few faults, still an unusual lot, catalogued as all cheapest #41 but includes earlier printings as well. Overall fine. (Scan a) Scott $ 2,925

119 O/CVR 37, 41 image1870s to 1890s 3c Small Queen Lot, in a thick stockbook, with well over 2,000 used stamps plus about 13 (mostly faulty) covers. We note more than usual early 1870-72 shades than is usually seen in this type of lot, with pages full. We also note several carmine rose shades from 1888-89, many 11½x12 perfs, 15 copies with imprints, many town cancels, and more. Inspect. (Scan a) (Scan b) (Scan c) (Scan d) (Scan e) (All Scans)

120 O/CVR 37a,b, 41a image1870-90 3c Small Queen Shade Study, all neatly written-up on quadrille pages in a Stanley Gibbons album. First two pages show a colour chart, the first of which is apparently ex. Fred Jarrett. Follows a shade study starting with early copper reds of 1870, rose shades up to the rose carmine shades of 1888-89, with stamps and covers and noting only one cover after 1890. We counted 35 covers and about 100 stamps in all. There is some postmark interest, for example we noted the earliest recorded date of Bowling Green Ont MAR.7.1871 (on cover). Many of the covers have been long removed and of those remaining there are faults, and the stamps are overall fine or better. High catalogue value and not often offered. We have scanned 5 pages online and highly recommend viewing in person. (Scan a) (Scan b) (Scan c) (Scan d) (Scan e) (All Scans)
