1233 O   Collection of Canada Wide on Stamps, with a group of about 45 old Art Leggett pages, each with a number of stamps from a wide variety of towns, with many different denominations including several 1c SQ strips, 5c SQ, 8c SQ, 3c Jubilees, Numerals, Leafs, etc. We note better towns such as Moose Jaw, McLeod, etc. Also a red box about half full of 102 cards with similar material to pages, with many multi-frankings on piece, many Type I cancels, with hundreds in all. Probably 25 to 30% of the strikes in this lot are partial, still a very useful lot for those willing to inspect for better items. Est $ 250

SOLD for C$275.00
Will close during Public Auction
1234 O   imageOld Time Collection on Pages and Stock Sheets, with over 900 stamps, showing precursors, Type I and Type II squared circles. Many are fully dated, including lots of socked on the nose strikes and some are partial. We note strikes on stamp and or piece mostly, with 1c, 2c, 3c values mostly, with some 5c, 6c and 8c values as well, and we note a strip of six ½c values on piece with Leamington strikes dated AP 15/95. Many items are identified with town, date and RF, and we have left the collection intact. There appears to be a good variety of different towns, with not much duplication, except for a few dozen each of towns like Toronto, Ottawa, etc. A nice collection, viewing is recommended as there may be finds in here. 1236 O   Large Lot of Squared Circles on Small Queen Stamps, all in a cigar box and great majority off paper, we estimate about 4,300 stamps, based on weight of stamps (173gr). This lot has a little of everything, with all the types and many different towns. We note mostly 3c SQ, but also other denominations such as 1c, 2c, 5c and 8c, plus a good number of Leafs and Numerals and a quick scan revealed at least an Edward as well. Strike quality appears to range from very partial to socked on the nose. Totally untouched and unchecked by us as to better strikes, varieties, errors, dates, etc, so there may be finds as these were accumulated by a collector who did not specialize in squared circles. Careful examination is therefore recommended. (property of a different vendor) Est $ 400

SOLD for C$2,400.00

1245 CVR   image2-Ring 16 Brockville on 3c Large Queen Cover, mailed Brockville on JUL.26.1869 and addressed to Farmersville C.W, with next day receiver on back. The cover is franked with a 3c Large Queen, tied by a light but readable 2-ring #16 (Unitrade RF 8, very rare). The cover is obviously very dirty and roughly opened at right (could be nicely trimmed) but has three enclosed letters, all datelined Brockville (in 1868) and addressed to the same recipient of the cover, Mr. Hayes. This obliterator is missing from many 2-ring collections. (Scan a) (Scan b) (All Scans)
