Several thousands of stamps, beginning with "A – C", Aden through to Czechoslovakia, Aden has KGVI se-tenants, Austria with turn of century Empress Elisabeth, Australia an extensive range of tuberculosis association including impressive progressive color proofs from the 1940s onwards imperforate, a good range of Belgium, Bermuda red cross, Burma "rest haven" presumably from the 1930s or 1940s, good Canal Zone, Ceylon seldom seen back of the book, here with themes ranging from lilies to elephants. China including interesting Syracuse Unit in West China, as well as several other dozen different examples here, occasionally blocks of 4, early Taiwan, Columbia, Costa Rica, Cuba inc unusual booklet panes of 10 from the 1940s rouletted, with and without overprints, hospital pictorial promotions, further imperforates, post office promotions in presentation sheets made in very limited numbers from the 1950s, ending with scarce Czech BOB 1920s/early 1930s etc. The other volumes "D-I" particularly strong in France and Scandinavia, "J-N" with unusual Japan, "P – R" with good Panama some of which will be in the specialized catalogues, there is also an extensive range of Portugal here including 1920s specifically for the Algarve, through to early Ryukyus Islands. The fifth volume "S-Z", strong in Sweden from early 20th century, ranging through to early progressive color proofs, good Thailand, etc., outstanding in scope with a retail potential clearly running into five figures - ideal for EBay, a lifetime’s work of collecting the unusual, no doubt with many discoveries to be made.
An excellent range with the 1st and 2nd Lindner albums are Vatican extensive mint and used collections, the 3rd album is Finland in a KABE including the 1930 Zeppelin NH, 20th century virtually complete and 19th century represented by a few roulettes to various 1891/1901 high values, the 4th album is Luxemburg, in a Lighthouse virtually all NH from the early 1950s onwards, incl 1957 Europa and other better charity sets, The 5th album is Denmark in a KABE from 1853 imperf spandrel onwards, most of the strength in the 20th century being well filled from 1907, the 6th and 7th albums are both Liechtenstein in Lindner filled almost parallel mint and used from the 60s onwards, the 8th album is Norway in a well filled Schaubek, 20th century with a few empty spaces plus a useful showing of back of the book - 19th century also strong with the 1872/75 skillings complete used 1sk to 7sk cancelled by circular date stamp strikes and similarly with the first posthorn ore currency complete series 1877/78 to 60o, the 1878 high values complete, the 1898/1908 Knudsen printings complete to 60ore and all the 1905/08 overprints complete and further studies of the 1909/10 issue etc., The 9th album is Austria again well filled post WWII, including better postal history commercially used which is unusual with high values (e.g. the 10sh costumes) and various other key commems from the late 1940/50s on many different covers, The 10th book is more of a miniature sheets/topical holding, all mint NH including material from other parts of Europe with topics that this collector liked. A well rounded impressive collection.
“A-Z” collection of 1000s in three very old fashioned “Behrens” albums in their original dust jackets, Why not start viewing the Russia, Greece and her territories, France and Scandinavia to begin to get a flavor of this old world collection. Discoveries likely, especially when turned page for page – they don’t make ‘em like this any more!
