Province of Québec
LotNo. Symbol Cat No. Lot Description
516 PC   imageOld Dealer Stock of Early Picture Postcards with Better Province of Québec Broken Circle Postmarks, a white postcard box with about 600 mostly sleeved cards, the great majority from 1902 to 1920s (plus a few after that). The great majority of these cards have been put aside long ago for having small town PQ broken circle cancels. The cards are either addressed to, or come from these towns, a large quantity of which are long ago closed. In fact, the dealer carefully wrote the town name and Post Office opening and closing dates (in pencil) on most of the cards, which makes it easy to see that a good quantity of these were only open 5-15 years. There are way too many to list or photograph, but our photos will show a sampling. The picture sides often have useful features such as early town views (not all cards are from PQ), etc, and we show a few sample photos of this. Quality of the cards is average, with the odd fault here and there. Should easily be worth our low estimate of 80c per card.
