Belgium and Colonies
LotNo. Symbol Cat No. Lot Description
1529 O/og/nh   imageExtensive Mint and Used Belgium Collection, 1849-1966, all on computer generated paged in two Lighthouse binders with slipcases. Quite an extensive collection including regular issues, Semi-Postals, Postage Dues, Airmails, Officials and Parcel Post / Railway stamps. Throughout the collection there are high value singles, sets and a few souvenir sheets (some of the S/S not present are represented by singles from the sheet). There is a mix of mint and used - the used often have nice c.d.s. cancels and the mint is almost all hinged, except for a few exceptions such as some early Postage Dues and a few souvenir sheets. See pictures for a good glimpse into this clean collection. Catalogue value is for regular issues only up to 1957 plus all of the Semi-Postals, Postage Dues and Officials, plus only a few of the first Railway sets. What was not counted are two stock pages of Precancels and most of the Railway stamps, plus a cover and a few odds and ends including some unissued souvenir sheets. 1536 og/nh   imageExtensive Mint British Commonwealth Collection in Three New Age Stanley Gibbons Albums, 1953 to 1965, a lovely and fresh collection undoubtedly purchased as new issues and well preserved since, with bright colours. Close to complete, virtually all in complete sets (for example, out of 37 sets cataloguing over $100, one set is missing a low value and another a mid value). The high values are usually NH and in protective mounts and the rest are hinged with high quality hinges that leave almost no trace when removed. A very nice collection which contains too many good items to describe here, have a look at our many photographs for an idea. The catalogue value given is from 12 years ago, so should now be higher. A wonderful opportunity for collectors, or dealers needing new, good quality stock.
