We estimate a total of well over 10,000 stamps (many specific days can have up to 10 stamps stacked on each other), all with fully readable dates and a wide variety of different town cancels. A perfect, and unique opportunity for town cancel collectors, as well as calendar collectors, as this is a true labour of love that took many decades to assemble. 1244 O Tasmania imageAdvanced Collection of Tasmania Barred Numeral Cancels on QV Chalon Stamps, #1 to 123, all neatly sorted and displayed in 4 black stock pages. We counted 86 different numbers represented on 282 stamps (singles, pairs and strips of three). When a number is duplicated, it will be on a different stamp, as this was the goal of the collector. In a few cases there is a manuscript number plus a barred numeral. We noted all denominations represented in various quantities, from the 1p to the 1sh, with loads of shades, watermarks, and perforations. A labour of love which would have taken decades to assemble, ideal for collectors or dealers wishing to part out. All four paged scanned online, should easily be worth our estimate of just C$7 per stamp. (Scan 1) (Scan 2) (Scan 3) (Scan 4) (All Scans)

1249 O Victoria imageAdvanced Collection of Victoria Barred Numeral Cancels on Stamps, #1 to #2109, all neatly sorted and displayed in a thick stockbook. We counted a total of 2,200 different stamps, either by postmark, or stamp issue, as the collector worked on obtaining as many different postmarks on as many different stamps. Throughout the collection are many rare items, postmarks on Kangaroo and KGV stamps, coloured postmarks, a few complete duplex, and much more. The collection was assembled using the 2018 Brusden White "The Barred Numerals of Victoria" publication (offered separately in our literature section) which the owner used to check mark each postmark he owned. A rare offering, with each postmark being the best the collector could find, in terms of clarity and centering, includes many RR and RRR, RRRR (etc.) items, overall fine or better. We photographed several random pages to give a flair of what to expect. Should easily be worth our low estimate of just over C$1 a stamp. We note a good variety of different numbers, on a good variety of different stamp issues, with a few Australian issues, some coloured cancels, surely several rarer numbers, etc. A rare offering of what could be a very useful "stock" for collectors or dealers alike. Overall fine or better, see our many random pictures for an idea. Comes with a quality set of album pages to display these stamps, prepared by Jérémie Guerra in 2023, with spaces for all the barred numerals, with identification and rarity factors (the owner has started to insert stamps in this, and there are currently 44 stamps in it).
