1045 PC 89, 90 imageGroup of 6 "Non Standard" Edward VII Mailed Items, starts with a leather postcard in the form of a shoe, mailed from Winnipeg in 1905 (2c rate), two postcards mailed in a glassine (the glassines both have a circle cut out to show the stamp), mailed this way to protect their backs, which have glued-on glitter and other glued-on items (small envelope with letter inside plus an embossed bird, and two-dimentional metal automobile). Also includes a mailed birch bark postcard, a mailed plywood postcard (with wood-burned design on back) and a mailed elaborate plywood postcard with a photograph glued-on (2c rate). All except the two listed were mailed at the 1c postcard rate. An interesting and unusual group, and a great start to the fascinating world of collecting rates vs rules. We note patriotic illustrations for Winnipeg, Muskoka, Toronto, St John NB and Niagara Falls. Two of the cards are duplicated, rest are all different, overall very fine. A difficult group to assemble. (Scan 1) (Scan 2) (Scan 3) (Scan 4) (Scan 5) (Scan 6) (All Scans)

1049 PC 104/112 imageGroup of 66 Admiral Picture Postcards Mailed During the 1921-1925 6c Postcard Rate Era, mostly mailed to Europe (with many different countries), but saw a few to Japan. Wide range of towns, cancels and scenes (includes some RPPC). As no 6c Admiral stamp was ever released, there are many different combinations of stamps used here to make up the rate. Would also make for a start to a “calendar” collection. Condition is a bit mixed, with several fine or better. (Scan 1) (Scan 2) (Scan 3) (Scan 4) (All Scans)

1051 PC 104/117 imageGroup of 58 Admiral Picture Postcards Mailed During the 1921-1925 6c Postcard Rate Era, but these 58 cards are franked with anything but the 6c rate. Most were the acceptable 2c “printed matter” rate for messages sent with up to 5 words, but many were underpayments (and in a few cases – overpayments) possibly due to confusion about the rates. Frankings range from 1c to 10c, with a wide range of stamp used to make up various combinations. Most are used to Central Europe (and some slightly out of the way destinations like Norway), but also noted Uruguay, Chile, Egypt, Algeria. Great rate study group, especially for those who like postage due items that were not caught. Some faults, else overall fine. (Scan 1) (Scan 2) (Scan 3) (Scan 4) (Scan 5) (All Scans)
