1022 PC 35 image1c Small Queen on 1897 Illustrated Private Postcard, mailed from Peterborough (MAR.9.1897 squared circle ties stamp) to Brockville The large margined and well centered stamp was affixed inside a silver lifebuoy stamp collar, on a colour illustrated card depicting a flag and pole on front and ornate cherub-inspired "B" for the Buntin, Reid & Co. manufacturers of stationery. Addressed to Wardsville and franked with a 1c Small Queen (tied by segmented cork and Thamesville Sep 1890 c.d.s.) paying the printed matter rate. 1026 CVR 35, F1b image1888 Small Queen Registered Drop Letter, a Molson's Bank cover mailed Woodstock on JUL.26.1888 (duplex) to Woodstock, franked with a 1c Small Queen (paying the drop letter rate) plus a 2c rose carmine Registration stamp (Montréal Gazette printing) paying the registration fee. 1030 CVR 36b image2c Green Small Queen Bisect on 1897 Cover, franked with the lower right half of a diagonal bisect, tied to clean cover by Yorkville, Toronto FEB.19.1897 c.d.s. cancel, paying the 1c printed matter rate to Canadian Pacific Railway, Toronto with same day receiver on back, very fine and a lovely bisect cover. 1031 CVR 37, 38 imageTwo Better Small Queen Trans-Atlantic Covers Mailed Halifax to the United Kingdom, first mailed NOV.4.1873 to Scotland, franked with a lovely block of 4 of the 3c red Small Queen paying the 12c double Cunard Line rate, with NOV.4 Liverpool circular receiver in red on front, and NOV.15 Edinburgh receiver on back (ex Ribler). The second cover mailed on SEP.12.1887 to "York", franked with a 5c Small Queen, with York SEP.23 receivers front and back, plus a lovely boxed "INSUFFICIENTLY ADDRESSED / 930" then a York PAID duplex on back dated OCT.3 (presumably to re-send somewhere else). Both covers are very fine and fresh, and are ex George Arfken, the 12c rate cover is also ex S.J. Menich.
