362 og/nh 104-140 image1911-1926 1c to $1 Admiral Set, mint, with most stamps having been selected for their superior centering, with the following stamps also being never hinged: 104, 105, 107, 108, 109, 111, 112, 114, 115, 117, 118, and the rest are, for the most part lightly hinged. The basic set also includes #s 139 (NH), 140 and 184 (NH), as well as three imperforate pairs (2c and 3c are NH). Catalogue value is for basic shades or printings only. 363 og/nh 104/120 imageGroup of 33 Different Mint Admiral Blocks of Four, all displayed on black stock sheets, and hinged unless otherwise noted. We note Unitrade #s 104 (3x nh, but glazing), 104c (nh), 104e, 104viii (2x nh stamps, but glazing), 104ix (nh), 105 (2x nh stamps), 105d (3x nh stamps), 105f (2x nh stamps), 106 (nh), 106b, 106ix, 106c var (dot in oval at left of upper right stamp), 106c var ("accent" flaw on lower right stamp - both latter varieties listed in Reiche 1965 handbook), 107 (2x nh stamps), 107a (2x nh stamps), 107iv (2x nh stamps), 108 (nh), 109 (lower right has a thin), 109c (2x nh stamps), 110 (nh, lower stamps creased), 112 (2x nh), 112a (3x nh), 112c (nh), 113a (nh), 113b (nh), 113iv (2x nh), 114b (nh but very thin natural gum streaks), 114ii (nh, very light stain on back of one stamp), 115 (2x nh stamps, corner crease on lower right stamp), 118 (nh), 118b (3x nh), 119 (nh and fresh but one stamp with offset on gum), and 120 (nh). For faster cataloguing we counted each stamp as fine only in Unitrade, but note that there are many very fine centered stamps, as can be seen in our scans (therefore catalogue value will be higher). Collecting shades has always been better accomplished using blocks, as they give a better impression of each colour. A great start to a complete collection of Admiral blocks or reference collection. 365 O/og/nh 104-122, 139, 140 imageValuable Old Time Collection of Mint and Used 1c to $1 Admirals, neatly mounted on 10 pages, with mint, then used. A useful collection for its shades, papers and printings, with many NH items. We noted better NH stamps such as #s 111, 116 and many others (clearly marked on the pages), as well as many very fine centered stamps. Cataloguing was done for the least valuable shade for each value, but most values have listed shades such as the 7c sage green, both shades of each 10c values, three shades of the 5c and much more, so a detailed cataloguing taking into account the shades and printings (wet, dry) will be much higher. Includes a page with 18 used 2c carmine stamps chosen for their range of shades, an experimental NH coil strip of three with paste-up signed by Sissons (severed, so counted as three normal stamps), both types of provisional surcharges (mint and used, includes a mint slanted surcharge). A nice quality collection (saw only one stamp with a thin, marked as not counted), overall fine to very fine, all pages scanned online. 367 og/nh 104/120 imageLarge and Valuable Accumulation / Collection of Mint Admiral Blocks of Four or Larger, with basic Scott numbers 104 (8 blocks of 4, 4 blocks of 6, block of 9 and block of 12), 105 (6 blocks of 4 and a block of 10), 106 (7 blocks of 4, block of 10 and block of 16), 107 (2 blocks of 4, block of 6, block of 8), 108 (block of 4), 109 (block of 4, block of 6, block of 8), 110 (block of 4), 112 (2 blocks of 4), 113 (10 blocks of 4, block of 8), 114 (2 blocks of 4), 115 (block of 4), 119 (block of 4). As can be seen in our online photos, this group includes many shades, including better ones, but also a variety of wet and dry printings, papers, retouches, a few hairline blocks and more. Centering varies from fine to very fine and there is a mix of hinged and never hinged blocks. Very high catalogue value and should easily be worth our low estimate.
