125 O 85, 86 imageGroup of 1898 Dates on 2c Map Stamps, with 14 stamps, all dated between DEC.16.1898 to DEC.31.1898, including DEC.16, 20 (x3), 21 (x2), 22 (x2), 27, 28 (x2), 29, 30, 31. 1898 dates are scarce, as even though the stamp's official first day of issue was DEC.25, the new 2c Empire rate did not take effect until JAN.1.1899.

130 O/og/nh 85, 86 imageValuable Group of Mint and Used 2c Map Issues, starts with a lower sheet margin imperforate plate pair (unused, cut into at top right, thins), an imperforate pair (unused, little sulphuretted). Also includes 6 hinged singles (one without gum), 2 hinged pairs, three blocks of four each with two hinged and two never hinged, plus one hinged (rejoined) plate 1 block of four. One of the blocks has a part of the sheet's centre cross. Last but not least is a group of 93 used singles, with a variety of postmarks, including a few dated town c.d.s.. 136 E/P   image1c to 20c MacDonald Cartier Centenary Die Proof Essay Set in Black, with each value printed on thin card (approx. 73 x 59 mm), with the die number above the stamp design. Six values (a second 10c plus a 50c were later added) were proposed to commemorate the MacDonald-Cartier Centennial 1814-1914, but the project was cancelled due to World War I. The 20c has a few light creases, still very rare, with only two or three such sets known.
