LotNo. Symbol Cat No. Lot Description
984 O   imageCollection of Used Canada, Arch Issue to Karsh Issue, including back of the book (Airmails, Dues, perforated and overprinted Officials) and Special Delivery, as well as a group of Registration. The collection is close to complete in period, and also includes many used booklet panes and coil singles and pairs. The perforated Officials are often present in more than one position. A very clean collection, noting the presence of many clean c.d.s. cancels and overall very fine centered stamps. The collection is neatly displayed on black stock sheets, with descriptions, and the catalogue value should be over $2,750 (in Unitrade, as all very fine), see our many pictures online to get a good idea. Many of the blocks have been collected for socked on the nose postmarks from Ontario and British Columbia, noting c.d.s., MOON, POCON, postmarks. A nice lot for the used or block collector. A few faults on a few stamps, otherwise a nice and seldom offered group. (Scan 1) (Scan 2) (All Scans)

986 O/og/nh   imageLarge Collection / Hoard of Mint and Used, 1980-2003, mounted on a few hundred quadrille pages, with singles, sets, souvenir sheets, sheets, complete booklets and panes, coils and much more. Most issues in the period are represented by multiple mint and used examples, with the mint alone having a face value of just over $1,170. Also noted many used souvenir sheets with special cancels (routinely very fine), a few FDC, and much more. Our online pictures only give a small glance into this interesting collection. 987 O/og/nh   imageCollection of Mint and Used in a Thick SG Devon Album, to About 1975, starts with three ½c Large Queens, followed by many Small Queens, Jubilees, and so on. For many issues, both mint and used are present, and we note several better stamps such as #s 99 (x2, $170), 159 ($300), 243-45 ($121) and many more. There is also some postmark interest, useful back of the book, used multiples, booklet panes, coils, etc. Some of the modern items are mounted with 2-sided tape (which in many cases were easily peeled off) and we noted a few stamps stuck down, still the great majority of the collection is fine to very fine, and easily worth our estimate. Photos only show a small sampling. (Scan 1) (Scan 2) (Scan 3) (Scan 4) (Scan 5) (Scan 6) (Scan 7) (Scan 8) (Scan 9) (Scan 10) (Scan 11) (Scan 12) (Scan 13) (Scan 14) (All Scans)

988 O/og/nh   imageValuable Mint and Used Collection of Canada,1852-1953, neatly displayed in mounts on album pages, the collection starts off with two #4 (diff. papers/shades) a used #8 and a basic set of used First Cents issues (with shades and extras), a few used Large Queens, basic set of mint and used Small Queens to the 50c (the 1c, 20c and 50c are mint) plus a neat cover with 10x ½c issues addressed to Denmark, a full set of Jubilee issues (with a few extra shades), and looks complete mint to the end for regular issues, missing early coils, but includes KGVI booklet panes. Back of the book includes 11 different Admiral War Tax issues, including the three WAR TAX overprints, Airmails, 2c to 8c Registration stamps (all mint), plus an 1877 2c RLS on cover from Galt with boxed Railway cancel, plus a great offering of perforated and overprinted OHMS and G Officials on 6 pages. Some of the other extras include three stampless covers (1857-1873) including the earliest recorded strike of Kincardine C.W, an imperforate sheet margin pair of the 1898 2c Map stamp, three Canadian Pacific Railway illustrated stationery cards, (used KEVII, mint and used KGV all with diff. illustrations) as well as extra shades, etc. A quick spot check of the mint revealed mostly hinged at first, turning into a mix of hinged and never hinged, and we noted that some of the higher value early stamps ($1, $4, $5 Jubilee, 50c Edward, 20c Québec, etc.) have no gum or are regummed. We also noted a few stamps with thins, still quite a valuable collection, cleanly presented and overall fine or better. 994 O 4/310 image32-Page Stockbook Full of Quality Used Stock to KGVI, starts with a #4 (faulty), a few Cents issues, Small Queens to the 6c, Jubilees and so on to the end, with pretty much every issue represented after the Small Queens, often with many dozen copies (missing high value Québecs and a few more here and there) including hard to find coil singles, pairs and strips, early Special Delivery issues, three Bluenose issues (two are very fine centered), etc. A better quality stock than is usually seen, as we note a high percentage of cleanly cancelled stamps, including several socked on the nose town postmarks, and we also note several high denominations. Duplication appears to be between one and a few dozen of some and we note coils, blocks of four, etc. One of the highlights of this collection is the postmark interest, as we have seen several dated town cancels (some socked on the nose), some squared circles and other types of useful postmarks.
