We estimate about 900 covers and cards, generally ranging from the 1920s to the 1990s. plus roughly 4,000 stamps on and off paper and pieces, ranging from the late 1890s to the 1990s. All the postmarks are displayed in alphabetical order (Abbotsford to Zeballos), and we note a very wide variety of post offices, as well as many different types of postmarks within, including broken circles, c.d.s., rollers, duplex, MOON, MOTO, POCON, a few slogans and other markings such as registration boxes, instructional markings, parcel handstamps, etc. The pages also include photographs of post offices, along with post office information including openings, closings, name changes, etc. There are too many post offices of note to list here, but our online pictures show a small sampling of the collection. An extensive collection with several socked on the nose cancels, ideal for the postmark collector, overall fine to very fine. 847 CVR/PC   imageCollection of Victoria BC (To, Through, or From) Postmarks on Covers and Cards, 1872-1980, containing roughly 650 covers and cards, organized chronologically on hundreds of pages, in 7 binders. The collection begins with a binder of 85 Victorian era covers (noting advertising corner cards and a few wrappers) and 27 post cards (including a few private post cards), with a few different postmarks found within, noting broken circles, including two Victoria / Brit Col from 1872 and 1883, along with c.d.s, duplex, and squared circles. The collection continues with a wide variety of material, primarily in the King George V and VI era, including first flight covers, AR cards, meter mail, O.H.M.S., military mail, event covers, a few first day covers, telegrams, and many advertising corner cards (including a few illustrated), and includes a variety of slogan, machine, flag, blackout, c.d.s, broken circle postmarks, and a few registered handstamps. Some of the rates paid include drop letters, airmail, postage due, registration, and special delivery, noting a few covers sent to the United States and Great Britain, with incoming mail from Victoria, Morocco, India, South Africa, just to name a few. Online photos show just a small sample of the material offered. A nice addition for the postal history collector and dealers alike.
