(Belleville) on Large and Small Queen Combination Registered Cover, mailed Belleville on OCT.18.1872 to Clinton (next day receiver), endorsed "Paid Regd / 245", with boxed "REGISTERED / B. & L. H.R." (Buffalo & Lake Huron Railway) tying stamps
plus another on back, alongside an OCT.19 "B & L H R R" datestamp. The cover was likely put in the mail box unfranked, and the Postmaster first franked it with a 3c rose red Small Queen (tied by 2-ring 13). Upon careful inspection of the sender's
instructions at top left, the Postmaster then added a 2c Large Queen to pay the registration fee (tied by a second 2-ring 13). Very fine and ex Harrison. (Scan 1)

on Large Queen Registered Cover to England, mailed on AUG.12.1869 to Manchester, England (AUG.25 registered receiver) through Toronto (AUG.13), The cover is franked with a 1c yellow, 6c brown and 15c purple Large Queens, all tied by 2-ring 13
cancels, also with a Crown Registered cancel in red on front. This rate should have been 23c, and thus a 1c stamp is missing which would have been to the left of the other stamps, where there is now a filled-in "Registered" handstamp. Nonetheless a
colourful franking. Accompanied by a 2015 Greene Foundation certificate. (Scan 1)
