128 O YL7-YL12 imageGroup of 39 Legal Documents franked with Yukon Territorial Court Stamps, a rare offering that includes a wealth of different types of documents as well as frankings, with several single frankings plus multiples up to $16.50. Some of the better issues we noted include several 25c on 50c surcharges, a $5 on 50c surcharge (one of only two documents we have seen with this stamp), a single $2 on 50c surcharge and all other denominations from YL7 to YL12 in one combination or another. Also a good lot for the study of postmarks, with varieties, etc. The majority of these are mounted and annotated on exhibit pages. Overall fine or better, ex Dr. Ian McTaggart-Cowan. The collection starts off with cigarette long strips (x13), then a nice selection of many hundreds of various cigarette stamps of all types, followed by long Customs strips from Windsor, Montréal, Toronto and Hamilton (x32) and ends with hundreds of three-leaf cigarette paper Excise stamps, with an attempt at collecting all the numbered precancels from 56 to 404. Many of the items are identified by Ryan numbers. Last but not least are hundreds more in 102 cards and glassines that have not yet been incorporated into the collection. We noted very little duplication, overall fine to very fine. Our scans only show a small sampling.
