1571 c, entire, etc. imageSwaziland: 1898 (Aug. 24) “In Veldient” stampless cover from Bremersdorf to Pretoria, with Bremersdorf datestamp, with arrival c.d.s. on the reverse. In April 1898 the Swazi king Bhunu was implicated in the murder of a senior chief, fled to Zululand and was handed over to the Z.A.R. police for trial in Swaziland. Civil unrest grew to the point where Z.A.R. toops had to be deployed to guard the border. Just four known covers are recorded from this campaign. Photo. (Image1)
