771 c, entire, etc. imageFalkland Islands Dependencies: Graham Land: Seven covers to Stanley addressed by James Wordie c/o David Roberts (incorrectly addressed as “H.W.”), Colonial Manager of the Falkland Islands Co. at Stanley House, the first bearing Thick Map 1s. cancelled at Stonington Island by type E1 Feb. 19, the second with 6d. cancelled Mar. 28, the third and fourth with 6d. and 9d. respectively cancelled South Shetlands Mar. 30 by type B2v2 reused with code D c.d.s., the fifth and sixth with Falklands 1938-50 2s.6d. and 10s. respectively both uncancelled by Deception Island Postmaster but all covers with Apr. 19 PS.3 arrival backstamp, the last cover (vertical fold) without backstamp but bearing 2s.6d. cancelled B2v2 in blue-black with code “D” reversed, additional strike alongside. Wordie was serving as a member of the F.I.D.S. Advisory Committee and was undertaking a tour of the bases to assess progress, travelling on S.S. “Fitzroy” in company with M.V. “Trepassey”.
