Port. India 1912 picture postcard featuring the “St. Francis Xavier’s Tomb”, from Nova-Goa to Coimbra,
franked on the front with a single 2 reis CM issue (CE 202) and on the back with a single 3 reis CM issue (CE 204). Both stamps are tied by a “Nova-Goa” CDS and a “Lisboa-Central” machine cancel. Also a “Coimbra” receiving CDS on the back. Text in
Portuguese. Genuinely used Goan postcards are scarce. Good condition.(Image 1)

Nova-Goa to Coimbra, franked on the front with a single 3 reis CM issue (CE 204) and on the back with a single 2 reis CM issue (CE 202). The stamp on the back is tied by a “Nova-Goa” CDS and a “Lisboa-Central” machine cancel. Also a partial “Coimbra”

Port. India 1922 cover from Mapuca to London franked on the back with a pair of 3 reis CM issues (CE
204) and a pair of 1 tanga CM issues (CE 208). 2 1/2 tangas was the correct rate to England in 1922. The stamps are tied by a “Mapuca” hexagonal postmark and a “Nova-Goa” transit CDS. There are 2 partial light “London” arrival postmarks + a dark
smudged mark on the front. Unusual late usage for these CM issues.(Image 1)

on 2 1/2 reis (CE 233), a bisected half 3 reis on 2 1/2 CM issue (CE 235) and a bisected half 3 reis on 5 tangas on 8 tangas Dom Luis (CE 224). The stamps are tied by a “Nova-Goa” CDS. This is a very scarce combination of bisected issues at the

Port. India 1917 valor declarado (insured) cover from Goa to London franked with two 4 tangas Vasco da
Gama issues with a “Republica” overprint (CE 252). PLEASE NOTE: these stamps are from the second 1897 printing in a darker shade than the first printing. Refer to lot 24. Insured for 100 rupees. Red “INSURED” label on the front. Partial “Nova-Goa”
registration CDS ties both stamps. Two “London” registration receiving marks on the back and 5 wax seals intact. This is a late and exceptional use of this Vasco da Gama issue.(Image 1)

Port. India 1932 packaging wrapper registered from Mapuca to “His Excellency the Archbishop of Dublin”.
Postage includes a block of 8 of the 6 reis value from the St. Francis Xavier Exposition (CE 329), three 2 reis CM issues (CE 202) and a single 4 1/2 reis Ceres issue (CE 259). There are two 4 1/2 reis Ceres issue (CE 259, perf. 12 x 11 1/2) on the
“front”. The St. Francis issues and the CM issues are all tied by a light “Mapuca” diamond shaped registration mark. The 2 separate Ceres issues do not appeared to be tied. Very late usage of the CM issues, but are damaged along one side. Superb
multiple of the 6 reis issue on an unusual piece.(Image 1)
