81171 Mi. 27y imageTwo covers, each franked with 10 bani yellow-orange, both fine examples with bright colour and cancelled by Calafat cds in green blue. Both come from the well known Faranga correspondence, but are not endorsed 'cu vaporu' (by steamship). It is likely however that the cover sent on 29th July went by DDSG ship, while the other sent in December went by the land route. 81179 ,, Mi. 29IIay image1872 Prince Carol 10B ultramarine Emergency Issue in block of 24 (3x8) from the upper left corner of the sheet (transfer types 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-1 repeated on each row). Very fresh with nice colour. There is a vertical crease between the 4th and 5th columns and a minor stain on the last stamp. Four stamps are hinged, while the others appear unmounted mint. One of the largest blocks in existence, as the Romanian 1984 catalogue states blocks of 24 are the highest formations. A superb multiple showing the deterioration of the Stone, mostly unmounted mint with original gum. Rare, signed Lupovici.(Image 1) (Image 2)
