10163 O RHM SXF-2FS image1843, 60r black, worn impression, boasting outstanding margins exhibiting outer frame lines on two sides and denoting this example to originate from the lower right of the pane, additionally showing the interpanneau dividing line at base, as well as more importantly featuring the elusive "filigrana de sutura" ("suture" or "stitch" watermark), harmoniously used with black "PORTO ALEGRE/SUL" double circle (Ayres 1586) centred to top. A probably unique piece combining the great rarity of the "suture" watermark and the semi-xiphopagus feature, delightfully presented with a uniform impression and a bold cancellation. Note: The "suture" watermark is caused by the splicing of the felt that carried the wet paper during the process of its manufacture, which was made with metallic threads. It is an accidental filigree with the appearance of a suture, when the stamp is examined in benzine.(Image 1) (Image 2)
