1843, 90r black, early impression, marginal pair with three wide margins to enormous at top, where an interpanneau dividing line is exhibited, this being slightly touched in two places, cancelled by boxed "CIDADE/DE/NICTHEROY"
hs in black (Ayres 1371). Two corner creases at top left, the right stamp being sound, and very slight tone spots mainly at left mentioned for accuracy and usually encountered. An extremely rare semi-xiphopagus in multiple.

1843, 30r black, early impression, detailed design with mainly ample margins, cleanly cancelled by black "OLIVEIRA/Va" double oval featuring laurels at base (Ayres 1376). Mild horizontal crease and minute thin at top, barely
detracting from this example of great visual appeal, of which only two are known in this denomination, with just other five additional "Bull's Eyes" recorded. (RHM 5'000).(Image 1)

RHM 3DI |
1843, 90r black, late impression, a well margined example featuring the "cracked plate" - "chapa quebrada" variety consisting in colourless area below the "9" at left within the 'eye', where a black flaw is located with traces
of the printing ink extending to the left margin, and the frame line being broken in two places at left, cancelled by framed "PARANAGUÁ." hs in black (Ayres 1384). A very fine example of this exceedingly scarce variety, being further enhanced by an
unusual cancellation; no examples of this rarity were found in the Luis Alemany Indarte and Hugo Goeggel collections. (RHM $20'000).(Image 1)

1843, 60r black, intermediate impression, good to wide margins, cancelled by "DIAMANTINA" oval hs (Ayres 1290) and an additional postmark apparently showing "PARATY" (type unlisted in Ayres). Tear and crease in upper left
corner; in case of being Paraty, this would be a unique usage, further enhanced by being a "Bull's Eye" exhibiting two different postmarks.(Image 1)

1843, 60r black, intermediate impression, strip of three with predominantly large margins, being complete at top left, with each stamp showing a clearly legible strike of the framed "PENEDO" oval hs (Ayres 1393). Some small
imperfections of little significance for this important multiple in an advanced collection of postmarks. Only seven "Bull's Eyes" are believed to exist with this cancellation, with three represented in this, the largest multiple. (RHM $10'000 per
single stamp).
