Only eight used are known, with just six in private hands (two of which the collector states to be in museums). One of the most rare and legendary stamps of classic Mexican philately and one of thre greatest rarities of this issue. No examples have been offered at auction in many years. 10576 ,O,,, Scott 26-34 imageMexico district group of 23 covers and 110+ mostly used stamps, with covers incl. 13c and 25c single franking, including one 25c with double "2" invoice number and used in the first week of issue. Most of the cancels are well struck, stamps incl. 7c-50c lithographed and engraved with many 7c and 50c lithographed and some very scarce consignment stamps incl. 7c consignment # 2-1866 (140 sent), 50c consignment 93-1866 (140 sent), 25c consignment #44-1866 (70 sent) and 50c consignment 66-1866 (79 sent). Among the engraved stamps there are two unused 7c from different consignments, one with a MEPSI cert. (NF $ 400 each), many 50c used and a beautiful vertical pair of 50c used (the second largest multiple known, NF $200). There are abundant numbers of consignments in each of the denominations and the collector has illustrated the many flaws and varieties of the issue in this group.
