Plate 8 HK with fine to very good margins, tied by red MC to 1841 (Jan 30) entire sent REGISTERED from Liverpool to Oxford, minor peripheral fault at bottom, cert. states that the stamp has been lifted and treated to reduce staining,
otherwise fine and extremely rare, cert. BPA 2011. This example is believed to be the second earliest known stamped registered letter. Less than a dozen registered covers with penny black frankings are thought to exist and many of the famous
collections lacked an example.
