South African examiners struck a handstamp on dispatch along with a Press Censor “JOHANNESBURG / TRANSVAAL” mark. On arrival in Bermuda, no fewer than four censor devices were applied: a purple double-ring ‘PRISONER OF WAR / PASSED CENSOR / BERMUDA,’ circular ‘2’ triangular ‘3’ (rare), oblong ‘4’ plus a manuscript ‘Not Darrells’ directing rou....
