VERY EARLY FRAMED "LERWICK/SHIP LETTER" HS: 13 May 1815 EL ex Lerwick to Edinburgh charged "7", with very fine "LERWICK/SHIP LETTER"
hs (oily & somewhat over fold); this mark only recorded from Jan 1815 & therefore this example is rare so early and clear. The contents reference the lack of ships from Shetland to Argyllshire causing cattle to be sent instead via Leith & driven
