232   imageREVENUES - STAMP DUTY ON LEGAL DOCUMENTS 1886-1913: Comprising 1886 stampless receipt for £7-10/- dated 13 Sept. with oval "Dean & Sons" purple rubber handstamp, where no duty was payable as business receipts where not subject to duty at this time, the second dated 15 Mar. 1897 is a receipt for a loan of £500 from Edward Curran of Douglas Station with QV 1d over which is written "signed Robert Bertram Cull" with the back of the receipt endorsed with part repayment of £25 in 1901 and finally a 1913 Affidavit with 1d KEVII endorsed "I am Christian Andreasen, San Carlos North, Falkland Islands". 233   imageREVENUES - STAMP DUTY PAYABLE FOR CUSTOMS DECLARATIONS: Two items on large display pages with 16th Mar. 1900 Customs form bearing QV ½d adhesive tied with oval purple rubber hs "Customs Falkland Islands" for Norwegian ship 'Annie' taking wool from Fox Bay to London, also a partly cut down example of the same form bearing KEVII ½d and tied with the same rubber handstamp for carrying 15 cases of Port on the PSNC 'Inca'. The second page also contains several additional adhesives from QV to KGVI with Customs cancels inc. KGV 1d bisects (2) on piece & KGVI 1938 ½d dated 26 Feb. 1950 being the last known use before this system of duty lapsed. Fine pair of scarce items. 236   imageREVENUES - GB CONSULAR SERVICE ON DOCUMENTS CONCERNING FALKLAND ISLANDS RESIDENTS: Two documents superbly presented and annotated on display page, the first a 1913 receipt for fees bearing GB KEVII £2 & 10/- Consular Service adhesives presented by the consulate in Valparaiso, Chile for expenses recovered for a passenger from the Falkland Islands together with a letter of explanation with a very attractive billhead for "Pacific Line Mail Steamers". The second is a bank document dated 1930 for an expense incurred by RT. Rev Norman Stuart de Jersey , Bishop of the Falkland Islands with GB GV Consular service adhesives 2/- (4), 1/- & 6d (9/6d) & 1/- vermilion directly embossed revenue, again issued by the consulate in Valparaiso, Chile.
