FALMOUTH (CORNWALL) RED "BUENOS AYRES/o" UDC (NAME TOO LONG FOR FLEURON) ON COVER TO G.B.; 24 Jan. 1845(?) env. (slight stain from
seal offset in middle of address well clear of marks) to Worcester (unclear arrival c.d.s + v. fine "LONDON-RD.-WORCESTER" UDC on reverse), charged "2/7" with a very fine red (rare colour) Falmouth "BUENOS AYRES/o" mark (CO420) nicely placed on the
front. [This mark when applied in red was not struck in Jamaica at this late date, but 1840s examples are clearly in the red Falmouth ink used by that P.O. for its other Ship Letter marks, etc.] Exhibition Item. [The matching cover from this same
correspondence in Cavendish's 'Culford' auction, Nov. 2004, lot 509, realised £380+BP.]Cross Reference: CORNWALL, SHIP LETTERS, ARGENTINA
