961   image1863 EXCEPTIONAL COVER TO U.S.A - BEARING RARE MULTIPLES: 13 June 1863 headed "Bank of London" EL to New York bearing 1856-76 2d blue plate 9 block of twelve GG-HL with multiple "13" (London District Office) cancellations and 1862-64 6d lilac block of four, NK-OL tied by fine "51" cancellations (London Chief Office) paying the 4/- standard double rate overpaid 1/-. A very rare use of two London numeral cancellations across two postal facilities. Some minor cover faults but a great rarity. Note: mentioned in Galland & Louis as the 2d block is one of the largest used recorded. (Image)
