INGOING COVER TO CYPRUS - 1402 LETTER WITH MERCHANT'S MARK EX VENICE TO "FAMAGUSTA"; Very fine 27 May 1402 EL (long and mainly legible contents in Italian) from "Francesco Souranzo" in "Venezia" addressed to "Gaspar Mavroceni, a Famagusta" with an unusual "FV[?]" merchant's mark on the front along with the addressee's filing note of receipt on "12 Agosto[?] 1402 per Jacomo Subadin[??]" nicely placed on the address panel. Certainly deserving of full transcription and translation. Thought to be the earliest recorded ingoing cover to Cyprus, and most definitely a rare and important Early Letter in an exceptionally fine state of preservation. Exhibition Quality.
