1079   imageRE - 'ENQUIRY FOR A CONVICT' PRINTED FORM CONCERNING CONVICT TRANSPORTED IN 1831 - Nov. 1838 printed form apparently sent in response to a request for information of 'Eliza Hayes' who had been transported to New South Wales in 1831, that advises no details are available but further enquiry may be made no sooner than one year later, then used to London on 25 Nov. 1840 with 1d black having four large to small margins cancelled indistinctly in red with LOWESTOFT and London cds slightly overstruck on the top flap; a later note dated 1843 confirms only that Eliza was known to be alive at the time her sentence expired in 1838.
