"ROMA 13 DEC. 54" auf frischem und vollständigem Faltbrief (unten kurzer Einriss), geschrieben in romanischer Sprache, nach Sumvitg mit vorders. auf ein der Marken übergehendem rotem Stabstp. "FRANCA" und Franco-Kreuz in Rötel. Rücks. Transitstp. "CHUR n.M. 18 DEC. 54". Mit 12 Bajocchi bis zum Bestimmungsort bezahlt für einen Brief aus dem Kirchenstaat unter österreichischer Vermitlung an eine Schweizer Destination in mehr als 75 km Entfernung von der Grenze laut Postvertrag vom 1. Oktober 1852.. Ein interessanter Brief aus einer Zuckerbäcker-Korrespondenz in die Surselva. Sassone: 7 Incoming Mail 1854 (13. Dec.): Papal States 6 baj. 'grigio verdastro', two used examples tied by "ROMA 13 DEC. 54" cds to entire letter to Sumvitg (short tear at base) to entire letter to Sumvitg, struck with straightline "FRANCA" in red, additionally tying one of the stamps, and with red cross to indicate pre-payment. Paid to destination at the 1 October 1852 rate for a letter by Austrian mediation to a Swiss locality 75 km or further from the border. An scarce and interesting cover from the correspondance of a Swiss confectioner in Rome to the Surselva region. Sassone: 7. (Image 1) (Image 2)

1602 cover image1857 (July 9): Unpaid Entire letter from Roveredo, Tirol to
Colorno, Ducato di Parma and taxed upon arrival. The entire
refolded and resend to Roveredo, franked with Parma 1852 (June) 10
c. bianco and 15 c. 'rosa chiaro', two fine and fresh examples with
good to enormous margins incl. parts of one neighbouring adhesive,
tied together by clear straight-line "COLORNO 11 AGOSTO" (1857)
datestamp (Sassone PR = 8 punti). Reverse with CASALMAGGIORE
transit (Aug 11) cds and indistinct arrival datestamp. Filing folds
and some edge wear due to the refolding, nevertheless a most
appealing entire full of postal history in the second rayon of the
LEGA, correctly paid with 25 centesimi. Cert. Vaccari (1991)

1603 cover image1852 (June): 15 c. 'rosa chiaro', showing nearly white background,
two fine and fresh examples with fair to huge margins, cancelled
together by light three-line "PARMA 13 AGO." (1852) datestamp on
cover to Faenza, Stato Pontificio, reverse with arrival cds of the
following day. Horizontal file folds well away from the franking,
the cover stabilized from the inner side, nevertheless an appealing
cover with the franking paying the rate until the border to the
Papal States prior to the validation of the LEGA treaty in October
1852. The receiver had to pay '3' bajocchi for the part of the
journey within the Papal States. Signed Raybaudi; cert. Colla
