GEN" in der selben Farbe und auf den 15 c.-Wert übergehendem rotem "FRANCA" auf vollständigem, archivfrischem Faltbrief an Posthalter Antonio Braun in 'Flem' (Flims) mit Leitvermerken "per Milano" und "per Chiavenna e Coira". Wie vorgesehen auf der Splügenroute befördert mit rücks. Transitstp. "SPLÜGEN 6 / 1 / 54" und "CHUR n.M. 6 JAN.54" und mit 55 Centesimi korrekt frankiert für einen Brief durch österreichische Vermittlung nach einer weniger als 75 km von der Grenze entfernten Schweizer Ortschaft laut Postvertrag zwischen Modena und Österreich vom 1. Oktober 1852. Ein seltener und dekorativer Brief aus der Korrespondenz eines Bündner Zuckerbäckers in Reggio di Modena. Sassone: 3+6. Incoming Mail, Modena 1854 (3. Jan.): 15 c. yellow and 40 c. 'azzurro scuro', two used examples of bright fresh colour and with large margins all round, lightly tied by black grid obliterator with "REGGIO / 3 GEN" datestamp alongside and red straightline "FRANCA" also lightly tying the 15 c. value to entire letter endorsed "per Milano" and "per Chiavenna e Coira" to the postmaster, Antonio Braun, at 'Flem' (Flims). Correctly prepaid at the 55 Centesimi-rate for a letter by Austria mediation to a Swiss destination less than 75 km from the border under the Austro-Modenese convention of 1 October 1852 and carried on the Splügen route via Chiavenna with "SPLÜGEN 6 / 1 / 54" and "CHUR n. M. 6 JAN 54" transit on reverse. A rare and most appealing entire from the correspondance of a Swiss confectioner in Reggio di Modena. Sassone: 3+6. (Image 1) (Image 2)

"CHUR 10 MARS 55 NACHM." und mit 40 Centesimi bis zur Schweizer Grenze frankiert während der Empfänger noch den in roter Tinte ausgewiesenen Schweizer Anteil von '20' Rappen zu bezahlen hatte. Ein bezaubernder Transitbrief. Sassone: 6. 1855 (Mar. 5): Modena 40 c. 'azzurro scuro', a used example of rich, deep colour and with good to huge margins all round, showing part of the adjoining stamp at base, neatly tied by black grid obliterator with adjacent "MODENA 8 MAR" despatch cds to entire letter to Glarus, Switzerland with clear strike of red "FRANCO / FRONTIERA" handstamp at right. Carried via Milan and on the Splügen route via Chiavenna with "CHUR 10 MARS 55 NACHM:" transit on reverse; pre-paid to the Swiss border at 40 Centesimi with the Swiss postage of '20' Rappen charged on receipt. printing, perf. 11½ (Mi. 9/IIIc.var) surcharged in black (setting
II) in an unused horizontal strip of four showing three different
overprint varieties or 7 Nkr. rose, third printing, perf. 10½ in a
rare used pane of twenty-five. Also an interesting pre-printed
telegram receipt from Danilovgrad (1876) and a cover for an
acknowledgement of receipt sent in return from Cetinje to the
Austrian Post Office in Alexandria (1882). Interesting and in good
