including Officials, Parcel and Service stamps, strength before the
1940s and showing a fine range of duplicates, starting with the
Nasr ed-Din Shah printings up to the 10 francs, also 1906
Provisoire overprint issue, some better sets like 1930 Shah Plavi
and Eagle 1 c.-3 t. cpl. (Scott-Nr. C34-C50) unused (some of the
values manyfold), the following issues from 1966 showing a fine
choice of mainly unmounted og. blocks of four; few reprints and
some forgeries noted. A fine assembly, neatly housed in 3

667 cover image1870: Lecoq 'Trencito' 5 c. scarlet, a horizontal pair, used with
1868 Lecoq 1 d. green in a horizontal pair, on 1874 entire letter
to Cochabamba, Bolivia tied by circular "TACNA / PERUI" datestamps
(March 12) in black (the 'Trencito' is rare used outside of Lima or
Callao). The 'Trencito' pair shaved at top but a stunning and
famous entire - signed on reverse "Guaranteed at 30'000 fr. francs,
Paul Morgoulis" in pencil. One of the true gems of the "Trencito"
and Lecoq issues. A rarity. Provenance: Collection Joseph

overprint in violet on Arequipa Provisional 10 c. blue,
imperforate, overprinted in black or without the original 1881-1882
overprint, all tied by "PUNO / PRAL" datestamps (Jan 22) in black.
A somewhat contentious cover with lengthy detailed explanation from
Gabriel O. Bustamente detailing the stamps believed to be postal
forgeries, those used late and those believed genuine all on the
same cover. A most interesting and rare piece, possibly the most
important cover of all Peruvian Provisional issues!. Cert. Gabriel

fairly well filled, with some better stamps noted as 1858 Coat of
Arms 1d. deep blue in an horiz.pair showing the connection between
the two panes cancelled by fine strike of dotted 'Pasco' handstamp,
1p. rose tied by clear strike of 'Trux' h.s., 1862/72 Lecoq issues
used, 1870 'Trencito' 5c. red used (3) and Llamita 2c. blue unused,
from 1895 onwards with many compl. sets used incl. 1956 Olympic
miniature sheet, further six stockbooks with some heavy duplication
as 1866/67 perf. Llama Issue used, 1895 5s. unused (8) and airmail
issues with 1937 St. Rosa of Lima 10s. used as well as a collection
of postage dues used/unused. In the classic period with some heavy
duplication up to the modern issues with a good number of unmounted
mint sets. In addition a small collection El Salvador. even margins all round, on 1856 cover, no side flaps, from Arroyo
to France tied by "FRANCO" handstamp in black with "ARROYO" str.
line despatch handstamp in blue at right and "ABRIL 27 1856" in
blackish blue ink below. Reverse with British P.O. "San Juan de
Porto Rico" cds in black (April 29). The cover erroneously struck
in London (May 17) with framed "CANADA / ART-19" in red (Van der
Linden fig. 721) and this deleted in manuscript with correct framed
"COLONIES / ART-18" applied at left in red (Van der Linden fig.
775) also tying the adhesive. taxed on arrival with handstruck "15"
décimes due marking in black. A great rarity and a possibly unique
usage of the 'Canada / Art-19' marking on a Puerto Rico cover.
