Mail to Europe - Switzerland 1864/71: 3 d. lilac, perf. 12½, a single and a horizontal pair used on 1872 from the goldfields of Waimea to Locarno, Switzerland well tied by "W" handstamps applied at Hokitika Post
Office. Mailed on the Pacific route via San Francisco, thence via New York with 'London / Paid' cds in red (May 1), circular "PD" and manuscript "3" pence credit to GB. Reverse with Hokitika despatch cds (March 15), Locarno cds (May
