Setting 27, a used block of eight (2 x 4), large margins on three
sides, touched on one stamp at top and adjoining stamp with hole,
typically blurred printing, first stamp with 1 anna (Ekanna) tablet
readable, cancelled by two strikes of crescent Telegraphic
cancellations in black. Rare and very fine for this error, priced
as a block of six, which only exists in used condition. Cert.
Philatelic Foundation (1957) Gi = £ 2'400+. Note: Haverbeck states
(page 31) "only one sheet has been reported and that has been cut

unused block of fifteen with large margins all round, from the
lower left corner of the sheet of 64 subjects, positions 41-45 /
49-53 / 57-61, and showing the tête-bêche pair in the first and
second stamps in the bottom horizontal row, of wonderful fresh
colour and of great rarity, being the second largest unused
multiple with a tête-bêche recorded. Hellrigl stated that no more
than 12 tête-bêche unused or used pairs exist with nine pairs being
used and that no more than 100 normal unused examples exist in
total. A magnificent multiple for the specialist. Cert. Ceremuga
(2021), Hellrigl (1984) Gi = £ 18'000+. Provenance: Collection W.
