4758 **/bof imageMedical Profession Revenues 1958/60: On the formation of the UAR
with Syria on Feb. 1st 1958, the Egyptian pharmaceutical firm, the

Egypt to Syria. Initially the Egyptian revenue stamp of 1957, the 2

with the Syrian customs duties and overprinted in Syrian Piastres
in black. The collection offered contains large multiples of the 2
m. green overprinted "Maatouk Brothers / 14.5" piastres in black in
a block of 90 (9 x 10), an irregular block of 86 and a block of 70;

piastres in black in a block of 30 (3 x 10) and 40 (5 x 8) the
latter block without gum; 1959, 2 m. green, wmk. Stethoscope, perf.

(Feltus 845a) overprinted "15" piastres in black in a top right
corner block of 80 (10 x 8) and a block of 40 (4 x 10) overprinted
"15" in black in a different font; 2 m. green, wmk. Stethoscope,
perf. 11½ (Feltus 845) overprinted "18.5" piastres in black in a
Control "A/59" block of 4 and a large block of 75; 2 m. green, wmk.
Stethoscope , perf. 11½ (Feltus 845) overprinted "25.5" piastres in
black in blocks of 80 (8 x 10) and 70; and 2 m. green, wmk.
Stethoscope, perf. 11½ (Feltus 845) overprinted "96.5" piastres in
black in blocks of 60 and 30 stamps. Rare and most unusual - the
stamps would have been withdrawn in July 1960 when the customs
stamps were no longer required. The first multiples this describer
has seen of these issues. A rare study collection, sold together
with an Egypt Study Circle article on the subject. (Image 1) (Image 2) (Image 3) (Image 4) (Image 5) (Image 6) (Image 7) (Image 8)
