mostly mounted. Condition somewhat mixed, but overall generally
fine. This section carries a particularly high catalogue value.

as well as used material, including numerous better sets and
individual values. Also included is Turkey, largely unused and
mounted, with a few items from the first issue used, and Finland,
mainly unmounted or used.

accumulation, strength after the 1930s, with a waterfall of modern
material in duplicates, with booklets, miniature sheets, facial
values, etc.; noted some emphasis on Sweden, Norway and Denmark,
some better items with Sweden 1855 3 sk. blue green (Mi.-Nr. 3)
used (two shallow thins), Denmark 1852 Thiele Printing 2 s. blue
(Mi.-Nr. 2II) used (certificate Nielsen), 1856 4 s. orange-brown

stock, comprising neatly arranged and annotated material on
stockcards as well as collections mounted in albums; many better
items or sets throughout, with France 1852 Napoléon 25 c. blue
reprint unused imperforate (Opinion Dr Goebel BPP), Great Britain
1840 Penny Black in a deep and intense shade (SG-Nr. 1) used with
red Maltese cross, later issues with fine duplicates and multiples;
Hungary with a fine choice of the 1871 King Franz Josef litho and
recess printings, as well as many modern imperforate sets including
1978 Pannonian Mosaics (Mi.Nr. 3310-3313B) unmounted og., and more;
Belgium well represented from the classics, including the
Épaulettes and Médaillons up to the 40 centimes, also 1931 and 1935
Souvenir sheets (Mi.-Nr. 2, 3) used, etc. An eclectic and
interesting assembly, condition somewhat slightly mixed in places.

with a waterfall of duplicates, Spain well represented from the
early issues, including 1854 2 reales red (Mi.-Nr. 28z) used

unused with certificte Comex. Netherlands well advanced including
1852/1867 complete used (Mi.-Nr. 1-12) with some duplicates, 1898
10 g. orange (Mi.-Nr. 66A) unused, 1913 5 g. orange and 10 g.

Switzerland and Liechtenstein, including, for example, several NABA
1934 sheets, from Liechtenstein one Vaduz souvenir sheet, and two
Dux mini-sheets. The section relating to Germany includes several
OSTROPA souvenir sheets (one with a defect), as well as material
from the French and the Soviet Zone. Further countries represented
include France, Hungary, Poland, Yugoslavia, the Vatican, etc.
always containg better items. Condition is generally good, the
material being predominantly unused, never hinged, with some used
and a few unused hinged items. At the end of the stock book are a

chiefly comprising 1930s airmail correspondence to Argentina
(Buenos Aires), with strong representation of Germany,
Czechoslovakia, Danzig and Poland, together with occasional items
from Italy and associated routes. A varied assembly showing
commercial and philatelic usages, many with “Mit Luftpost / Par
Avion” etiquettes, Zeppelin and Lufthansa-related handstamps, and
cachets including Deutsche Luftpost Europa–Südamerika flights. One
full cover franked with German Reich (Mi 538 x3) Registered air
mail Mainz to Rio de Janeiro (Sclegel Certificate). Frankings
include mixed and multiple usages, better high-value combinations,
and a range of contemporary definitive and airmail issues. Notable
for repeated correspondence to a single addressee, offering scope
for route and rate study, including Condor and Air France
connections, transit and arrival markings, and instructional
markings. A useful group for the specialist in early transatlantic
airmail to South America. Condition somewhat mixed with faults, as
to be expected of such material, though many clear strikes and
attractive items throughout. letter sheets with their matching envelopes, sent either from the
place of exile in Gmunden (Austria) or from Paris, Palermo and

margins with minor marginal repairs, tied by numeral “8” and
CHEMNITZ 8/2 61 cds to second weight letter to Amsterdam; France
1867 (Dec 11), 20 c. blue tête-bêche pair and single tied by Beaune
cds with red boxed “PD” and Amsterdam arrival (Brun certificate
August 2025), the cover lightly cleaned and the tête-bêche; and
Finland 1872 (Dec), Wiborg to Purmerende franked with three 8 p.
and 10 p., underpaid by one missing 8 p., with red Aus Russland /
Franco marking, Prussian accountancy notation “2½” and St.
Petersburg transit. Condition variable as described, yet a most
interesting and uncommon trio illustrating cross-European rates and
